-
Over the past month or so, I've been cleaning & renovating some of my
1950/60s vinyl fashion dolls. Here's the most impressive one before I
started work....

Embroidery: Textured Panel ...
As promised last week, Sian has started her embroidery panel design. She's got the initial pencil outline (left) now completed - this will provide her with a continual reminder of her basic shapes, overall pattern & general idea for her design.
The next step she took was to begin the background. She choose a medium-heavyweight cotton and has worked with fabric transfer & fabric painted (right). She managed to capture exactly what attracted her to the specific autumn leaves she'd seen in the garden: a wonderful array of colour coupled with an 'explosion' of growth. This 'starting point' will enable her to begin her background stitching, prior to working leaves and other textures.
