Sewing Machine ...

Ruth and Sam brought along a sewing machine for their session today. Neither of them have any prior knowledge so HAVE NO BAD HABITS to get rid of!! This morning they learnt how to thread the machine and fill a bobbin as well as sew their first piece of fabric. They also got to discover the difference of thread types and the importance of using good quality thread PLUS how difficult it can be to control the speed of the sewing machine!!

At this early stage, the importance of understanding these BASIC skills is crucial ... and like many students before them, a few weeks of 'the basics' will enable them to gain valuable confidence for the future. Over the next week at home, they will hopefully have many 'practice runs' using the machine both unthreaded and threaded so that by next week, will be able to start sewing a small project.
