Sewing Machine - Tension ...

Ruth and Sam have been 'exercising' well during the past week although suddenly developing a problem with their stitching - both straight stitch and zig-zag. The samples brought along (see below) show the problems: 1 and 2. An inspection of several trial samples showed that suddenly the machine's tension went wrong causing it to stitch with the feel of 'small lumps' along the line of stitching to the underneath fabric. A few questions later and Sam realised that perhaps the had replaced the bobbin 'the wrong way round'. After re-threading and making another sample (3), tension was perfect again.
